About

Our Approach

We named our practice after the Banksia plant because of its unique ability to regenerate after exposure to bushfires. We view the process of therapy similarly - as a space to grow, reflect, and develop capacity following challenges that may be faced in our lifetimes.

We provide psychological therapy to adolescents (16+) and adults, and clinical supervision to provisional psychologists and other mental health professionals. Sessions can be accessed in person at our Warilla location or via telehealth (phone or Zoom-based).

We take a person-centered and genuine approach to our practice and aim to make your experience of therapy meaningful and collaborative.

How we can assist

We have experience working with a range of presenting difficulties and welcome the opportunity to discuss your referral needs further. For an understanding of our experience and work history to date please see our About Us page. Below are some areas of particular interest that we work with:

Perinatal Mental Health

We are passionate about support in the perinatal period for birthing parents, their partners and infants. We use evidence-based and attachment-informed approaches to assist families during conception, pregnancy, postpartum and early parenting.

Clinical Supervision

Our Practice Co-Director, Mathew, is a Psychology Board-approved Supervisor, with extensive experience in providing supervision services to provisional psychologists and other mental health professionals.

Relationships & Sexual Health

We can assist with difficulties relating to your relationships and sense of connectedness using an attachment lens. We also have an interest in areas of sexual health and wellbeing, and their psychological impacts.

Parent Support

The transition to parenthood and raising children is one of the most joyous and challenging roles in a person's life. We provide support for this transition as well as attachment-based parenting assistance informed by principles of Circle of Security.

Men's Mental Health

Our Practice Co-Director, Mathew has experience in providing mental health support to males across the lifespan. He is interested in the intersection of mental health and gender roles, and can assist men in their management of distress and more effectively having their emotional and relational needs met.

Young Adults

Our psychologists have experience working with adolescents and young adults (16+ years old) across numerous work roles. We understand the unique challenges and anxieties of this time in life (having lived through them ourselves!) and provide a genuine and non-judgmental space to work through them.
